Hi!
Welcome to my web page. It's still a work in progress so please be patient. I am so thrilled to be teaching 3rd through 8th grade here at Shelton Valley Christian School where we have great teachers and an awesome Christ-centered program! My goal is to provide a classroom environment where the students feel safe and loved and learn to become responsible, self-motivated citizens. I also want them to love learning and learn to do their best. Most importantly I want them to know how much God loves and values them.
I look forward to another exciting year of learning! This year we will be studying about Ancient civilizations, cell structures, electricity, and many other interesting topics. We will be integrating community service opportunities into our schedule by visiting nursing homes and learning to be of service to the community in different ways. About Me:
I graduated from CSU Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies in 2000. I spent the next several years as a stay at home mom raising my two daughters, then returned to work doing various jobs at Rogers Elementary School in College Place, WA. I graduated from Walla Walla University in 2010 with a Masters of Arts in Teaching and began my career as a teacher. I spent two years in Northern California teaching grades 5-8. This is my second year here at SVCS. I am looking forward to getting to know my students and their families as we work together to learn about this world and our Creator.
At home, I am mom to two daughters and wife to a great husband who sometimes comes in to help out in the classroom. We have two cats and one dog. We like to spend time in nature hiking, camping and canoeing on the inlet by our back yard. This year we will be hosting an exchange student from Sweden. We're looking forward to learning about her culture as we teach her about ours. Stop in anytime to visit and see our classroom.
